Dario Henao

Born in Liborina, Colombia, and based in France, Dario Henao is a visual artist and photographer whose practice moves fluidly between painting and photography. His work is rooted in a keen observation of everyday life and explores the relationship between memory, territory, and humanity.

Active since the mid-1990s, he has presented his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Colombia, Spain, and France. After an initial period dedicated to painting, he began developing a photographic practice in 2004, expanding his visual language and deepening his artistic expression.

He has exhibited at the Biblioteca Pública Piloto in Medellín, the Cité Universitaire de Madrid and the Cité Universitaire de Paris, as well as in various cultural venues in Auvergne and the Paris region, including Groupe Sup de Co Amiens and Société Générale in Paris.

Since 2004, he has also devoted himself to creating posters and portraits. A finalist in the international photography competition organized by the magazine Photo in 2007, 2008, and 2009, several of his photographs were published. Between 2011 and 2015, he created a series of portraits of the inhabitants of Virlet (Puy-de-Dôme), now on permanent display at the town hall.

His artistic approach is deeply human, seeking to reveal the poetry of simple gestures and the silent beauty of everyday life.
