Dorine Cavagnal

Dorine Cavagnal is a ceramic artist whose work explores the relationship between human beings and their environment. Curious and attuned to the world around her, she maintains an intuitive connection to the material she transforms, paying close attention to forms, textures, and harmony.
Since beginning her training at CPIFAC in 2020, she has developed a practice rooted in observing nature and urban landscapes. Her artistic research seeks a balance between figuration and abstraction, between poetic contemplation and sensory engagement.
In her studio, she experiments with hand-building techniques using grogged and smooth stoneware, which she turns, assembles, and transforms. She prepares her own blends of clay, glazes, and slips, and occasionally incorporates other materials such as porcelain, glass, wood, or metal.
This artisanal process gives rise to organic sculptures with soothing, evocative forms.
Her recent creations, gathered under the name Biomorphe, are marked by an aesthetic that is natural, dreamlike, and contemporary. They invite open-ended experiences, allowing each viewer to project their own imagination and find personal resonance.
Dorine Cavagnal’s practice is part of a search for meaning and connection with the living world. Through her work, she seeks to awaken awareness, reconnect humans with nature, and offer a form of active contemplation—both aesthetic and introspective.
