Mar Serinyà i Jordi Homs
Mar Serinyà Gou (Torroella de Montgrí, 1986) is a visual and performance artist whose work explores the links between body, voice, space, and presence. For her, art is a tool for knowledge, growth, and liberation—a way to explore her inner world while dialoguing with the world around her.
She holds a PhD in Fine Arts (University of Barcelona, 2016), and has also studied voice (Barcelona Conservatory) and body awareness. She uses her body as an instrument of listening and creation, seeking to express what moves her in the present moment. Through gesture, voice, and image, she gives form to what emerges from a given situation.
La Balènica is a co-creative, interdisciplinary duo formed by Mar Serinyà Gou and composer/singer Jordi Homs. Together, they explore new languages and forms of communication through the human voice, music, sound, performance, and visual art. Their creations take various forms: vocal performances, performative concerts, video works, and installations.
